Ok so I haven't updated this thing in forever, like 9 months or more, but I've decided to try again. Its kind of poor timing, because not a lot is happening in my world, but hey, who gives. Lets see.
I am now working for a spiffy diner in Yonkers. Its called the Argonaut and their Barbecue Burgers are delicious. Also I reccomend the Peach smoothie. Everybody working there is Mexican, so I've been able to practice my spanish and learn some new words. I'm still with my girlfriend, living in Yonkers. She's a teacher in the bronx, and is currently having a very hrd time with it. Some of the kids have absolutely no parental support, and a few of them have major issues (One of them has come into class on several occasions with "symptoms of marijuana intoxication", and this is a first grade classroom, which means this girl is only six years old). I'

A lot has happened to me in the last month or so. Firstly I went to Nicaragua with my family for the week+ between Christmas and New Years. It was an amazing trip. We stayed in a little cabin perched atop a ridge overlooking a beautiful beach. The little thatch hut-thing seen in the photos on the top contains two hammocks and the view from the hammocks was amazing. If someone could suggest a place to post the photos I will gladly put some up. I was able to do a lot of amazing things, like a canopy tour above the jungle tree, cruising from tree to tree on a little pulley tied to my waist. It was quite a rush. We also went sailing with a captain who was kind of hobbitish with a Peter Jackson beard. That was super cool as we were ale to hike to a small beach where baby turtles were crawling from their nests to the ocean. The little baby turtles are the cutest thing ever, and again with a suggested image host I will show you what they look like. It was also a very frustrating experience because sea birds were extremely efficient at nabbing the little tortugas out of the water as soon as they were no longer protected by our swinging branches and thrown rocks. The guide said that only about ten out or 4 or 5 thousand survive the birds, and their survival is lessened by poachers who take both the eggs and the mothers for eating. Very sad.
In other News Danielle and I have signed a lease on an apartment in Yonkers, near the Cross County Mall. Its small but nice. I'm definitely looking forward to having some of you over to warm the place. We are now working on acquiring, through the cheapest methods possible, furniture for the living room, which is by far the largest room in the apartment. Anyone who has a couch to give us or even sell for a nice price would be our best friends ever and the patron saints of the living room. We move in March 1st if all goes well.
Also I have rejoined the bustling world of a full time NYU Student, and I m looking for a part time job. Again suggestions (and good-words-put-in) would be great. That's pretty much all the news that's fit to print. I will try to be better at the blog, and perhaps when I'm avoiding homework I will blog more. We'll see. Anyway, here's to you, if you actually read this, and here's hoping I'll see you all soon.

So I am a horrible blogger, as I have not posted in what may feel like moths to my loyal reader(s), but that can be excused by my previous lack of high speed connection, but now I have high-powered interweb! Thanks to the folks at Vorizorn I am now super speedy in all net activities. Woohoo for DSL. Now I can remove the horror that is AOL from my machine. Anyway, here's what been up with me. I have been searching for a job somewhat half-heartedly, and have managed to slack my way into a situation where it isn't really possible to get a job that would want me until I have to go. I'm leaving for Nicaragua (a family trip) on Christmas day so getting a job right now would be dumb, especially as I can go back to my old jorb on the 5th of Janruary ( I think all months should have semi-silent R's like February). But I am looking for cash, so I have been going on craigslist and responding to every "I need help moving my TV; will pay $30" ad I can find. So Far I have always been too late. If only I were a "man with a van", then I would be the coolest cat in town. I would also be somewhat creepy as all those who own vans are. By unspoken law I would have to ride around and offer candy to kids in exchange for the privilege of driving them home. So maybe a van is a bad Idea. Anyway, I live and I am now Renaming myself Speedy McInternetstein, so I expect to be called that by all readers of my blog.

So I survived and I'm still in the New York Area. In Fact I plan to be at Sam and Adan's this week if there is a gethering there. If not I will go to Sci Fi. I am still looking for a job, but I have parlayed with my captain, gaoler, and mother (all one and the same) to allow volunteering to pass for the employment. I start working for Gods Love We Deliver, an organization that provides food for homebound AIDS and hospice patients, tomorrow, or at least I go to the orientation. So Makido remains in New Jersey/ York. I hope to se you all around soon. If not I'll see you evntually.

I haven't really done anything lately to connect me with the outside world lately, and therefore there has been no Octopus contact. Basicaly this has been because of a large project I have been working on at my house here in lovely weehawken. In a word: Stripping. I have been removing all of the paint on the doors and their frames inthe entryway to my house. If anyone ever tells you that stripping paint is an easy process they're delusional. In fact a lot of it has been similar to very detailed dental work on a jaw the size of...oh lets say... four standard sized doors. The flat stuff was easy. just suit up (to avoid chemical burns, because if it can eat through paint, it can eat through you) and layer some orange sludge on the doors. Wait an hour and then you get to experience the extremely satisfying scrape and baring of two handsome wooden doors. Unfortunately the flat parts were only about fifty percent of the doors surfaceand about fifteen percent of the work. Turns out the doors also have large plat ewindows in them, surrounded by an extremely ornate carved wooden pattern. This pattern has paint so thick on it that you cannot see or feel the attern on first inspection. It has been filled in and smmothed over with several layers of latex house paint. This stuff is in all sort of nooks and cranies and thereforis highly resistant to the orange sludge. What I neede to do was pick it out a scrape at a time with a sharp tool. An inch of this pattern takes about five minutes to clean completely and there is about 24 feet of this, as well as 2 feet of a slightly ess complex pattern on the other side of the doors. I've been busy. My back hurts, and my hands ache. It is remotely satisfying to see the beautiful pattern emerg from the smooth white bar, but remote means really far away and hard to truly see. This job sucks. And while I'm nearly done I have been imposed withan imposing deadline. I have to finish this job and get a job (any job, but they are scarce) by friday or I will get shipped off to Utah until December. Theres more to that, but I'm not getting into it. But thats where I've been.

So I had been going on with my life assuming that friday would be my last day, but today I was approached by the person who originally gave me the extra time. She said "Having a good last day?" I said, "No My last day is friday." She said, "No today is the fifteenth. Its what we agreed on before." Me: "Oh, yeah." So I am unemployerd as of five o'clock tomorrow. Crap.
